Anh-Minh Do is the Director of Communications at Vertex Ventures, where he oversees global communications for the $1.5 billion family of funds. Minh was an editor at Tech In Asia for three years, focusing on Vietnam and greater Southeast Asia. He is also the co-founder of a lifestyle brand and online magazine called Vietcetera.
He has co-founded and is a member of several organizations including the Vietnam Angel Network, SHIELD, Launch, Vietnamese American Entrepreneurs Network, Startup.vn and Thousand Network and Global Shapers.
He says, “I think featuring women in the media as women is a case of damned if you do versus damned if you don’t. If you don’t mention that she’s a woman, you don’t inspire the other young women out there and the gender obstacles she had to overcome. If you do mention it then you detract from her achievements as an individual and you put too much focus on gender, which for her may not be relevant or meaningful.”
